our first batch

The  first batch of our school had only 3 students while they were in first standard.   To make things look better we included children from the kindergarten!

We have come a long way

We started with three kindergarten   students  -  Chethan, Shakeer and Prakrthi Kodakkal with one teacher Ms. Norma  Marina Menezes taking care    in the rented building    presently housing Panchalingeshwara traders way back in 1986.

They had many more companions when they reached first standard which is obvious in the group photo.
This old building in better days was  a  witness   for many students  in  Vittal    getting educated. ( indirectly mean to convey it was girls hostel  earlier) We were there for twelve years.(correction may be required)

We have shifted three   times in the twenty years. Now we have our own spacious campus spread over two and half acres with twenty  three  staff  members  and   student strength of   653.

Dr K.G. Bhat adds -

I remember my schooling, It was a village school. During those days(early 60s)private schools were unheard of in small villages like mine. The teachers were not graduates and postgraduates as it is now. Still we did fairly well academically. We studied in kannada. Only in 5 std. We were introduced to English! We did well. The reason is simple. The teachers were dedicated. It was by choice that they became teachers, Not out of compulsion. Now if you cant do anything you become a teacher.
